Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which casino gambling is not permitted. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a generally small area in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in a prime destination, a 3 to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest betting centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mainly Thai; however, investment sources are vague. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are allegedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is true of most border crossings.
The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slots and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den is open all day and night with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown soon opened. A total of 150 slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and 96 gaming tables, including 87 punto banco (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machine games and 66 of the common tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-around resort and hotel complex that contains a number of amenities on top of the casino, which has 10,000 square feet of 130 one armed bandits and eighty eight gaming tables.
